marineland stealth PRO

the one bad thing about is if you have it next to a bed, or in your bedroom, the LEDs can get annoying.

a circle or sphere shape provides the least possible surface area for a known volume. the eliptical shape would surely increase surface area to transfer heat. not sure if that's what their reasoning was but it coincides. i almost want one now but i'm not willing to give up on my keep it out of the tank philosophy. oh well.

Rocker...the new design of the glass visitherms allows the red on light to shine brighter....really brighter! I have a 75G and a 55G across from me in the bedroom and each of them have two 300W heaters and my bedroom is kept cool.....I see those red ligts all the time now and rarely saw the other ones and the new heaters are in the exact same spot.

hmmmm, on mine, the red light isnt nearly as bright as the green light, problem is, the green light is on most of the time! so i now have a nice night light for my room!!! lol, but so far, the product seems to be working extremely well!

Is it maintaining your set temperature right on?

seems to be, this morning it was at 77 but now it is at 77.8, im not worried about it, it is not a big shift. so far so good!

Is the LED distracting while watching your fish? Do you have it submerged, or sticking out of the top of the water just a bit? When the lights are out, is it so bright that it partially illuminates the tank?

it is bright enough to see it, it may distract you a bit, place it down low in the tank horzontaly if you dont want to see it, it doesnt realy illumate the tank an night, but it is noticeable in the room if the green light is on, not too bad, just a faint green glow.

I put one of my new 250W Stealth Pros on my 75G, so far I really like it. Yes, an LED light is always on, but the control freak in me really likes it- red when it is heating, green when the temperature is at the set point.

The one thing I didn't like about the old Stealth design was that it had no LED light.

The "on" indicator light was one of the reasons I didn't go with stealth years ago when I started with discus. Nice that they included it in the redesign!
