Mega-Powerful Nitrate and Phosphate Remover Replaces Skimmer, Refugium, part 1-4

I've been following this thread, I like that last build with the acrylic uprights to hold the pipe. I'm upgrading my 55 reef to a 120 soon, and I think I'm going to work one of these into the sump plans.

That's right, I just went back and saw that. I guess if I use your calculations I'll for a 90 gal tank about 90 sq. in. right?

Does everyone just use the drain from an overflow to run water over the screen, or are people using a second pump to just pump water over the screen? I'm torn between teeing off my drain line and having a portion of the water feed over the screen, or just putting a small fountain pump in the sump specifically to run water over the screen.

Alright so if I use a 12x12 double sided screen, that should be plenty of surface area, and I should be looking at around 400gph or so. If my return pump is pushing about 1000gph, then I can tee it off and dump about half of it directly into the sump and the other half through the slotted pipe and over the screen.
