"Melanochromis Johanni “Chisumulu Easterni”

These fish are big brutes, growing easily to 5 inches. My wild caught male is almost 6 inches. The males turn a jet black with a broken-up lateral bar, and blue bands across the forehead. The females are a beautiful butter yellow, growing to 4 inches. These also require a large tank to prevent females from being hounded to death by the males. They are a truly spectacular fish, and if you have the room, definitely choose some!!"

And finally, this site takes the cake and clears up why the pic you have in your first post is NOT a maingano:

Although, if it is a M. johanni, it should not be refered to as "Electric Blue", as that typically refers to M. maingano.
Well, here we go again :D
I thought ‘Electric blue’ is referring to Sciaenochromis fryeri. :p
However, my bet? it’s Melanochromis interruptus.

Electric blue is the nick name or the strrt name for the Sciaenochromis fryeri.

The Johhani has a blue color morph cwith strret name of "Electric blue Johhani". It is never reffered to as electric blue. That's all. :)

heres a couple pics of my johhanni, from the same group of fry
