anyone do it? everyone has at least one good childhood story about the tiny train around the tree at christmas time, or their first layout, or even the first time they made a track that went no where off a table and turned on the electric power pack to see what happened and got eye level with the track and had gotten a severe temporarily blinding injury....(my brother isnt too smart maybe you arent either) anyway is anyone into model railroading because i find its kind of a rare hobby.

does thomas the train count!? haha my son loves it and im always rebuilding....haha

I collect o gauge trains with the hope that the 'toy room' will someday be the 'train room'...

Did some trains when I was a kid in the 60's .It was fun when I had them :)

yeah trains are always fun hehe

If I had the space, I would have an O gauge set-up. That would be the same scale as my other models. Maybe when the kids finally leave?
so would you make a large layout with a battle maybe? possibly a few derailed engines/ cars etc. and an active train with a load of fresh german equipment on flatcars?

I used to have a wooden track and car set.
It was all kiddy with magnetic attachments, but still, it was fun while I had it.

I don't know if I would go that far, but I could use the same detail pieces on both.

Like tabletop roleplaying games, it's a hobby with a small audience these days, but I recall my late brother-in-law had a gorgeous layout: a mixture of flat and mountainous filling 3/4ths of the garage (my sister was very understanding), including brass engines. It was gorgeous, and I wish I had the space to get into it myself.
