polysperma is a plant on the federal noxious weed list which is the reason those threads are edited or closed.

I don't think this sort of thread/post is the way to accomplish anything. If you have constructive comments, they are often better received when done in a less agressive manner.

:iagree:

so just out of curiosity, if someone has this plant in their tank, and it's been there since before it became illegal, is that person still breaking the law? or would it just be illegal for that person to sell it?
And just so everyone knows, I'm not asking because I have this plant. I don't. I'm just curious as to how this works.

Yes, it's illegal to sell it.

However, if you have an illegal species growing on your property where it could potentially spread and can be seen, the local gov't (county or city depending upon where you live) will come by and give you a timeline to remove it (like mustard weed here in WA). They'll eventually fine you here in WA if you fail to remove a noxious species.

So generally if you kept it in your aquarium, didn't try and sell it and carefully dispatched of any dead plant matter so it wouldn't spread, you'd be okay.

Uh oh...does this count as getting off topic?

I totally agree, mods are crazy with power. This is like the time when I tried to sell a baby on craigslist. The stupid mods shut down my sale and reported me to the police. All I was trying to do was make a living. Since when are babies even illegal anyway. Jeez.

LOL Zaffy! :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
