Monthly Water Chanes???

I dabbled in FW plenums for a few years, and yes, they did work, but so what? I still did the sane pecent partials with or without plenums. Nitrate is a pollution indicator, it is on its own only a part of pokkution but the easiest indicator in unplanted, non-plenum, non-coil denitrator tanks.

If you have a disability which does not allow lifting/moving weights (as in buckets of water), get another job and buy a Python, or don't try to keep fish if you cannot do it properly.

I am kinda afraid of the python because we have snap together laminate flooring in all of the rooms except my bedroom because of the fishtank. I kinda giggled a little when they sceamed at me about the grass, too. We don't have a basement and the laundry place is in the kitchen behind sliding doors, so that won't work. Hmmmmmmmm............

I understand your python concern -- I had a connection go on mine and soaked the carpet. However, in my life I have spilled more from carrying pails than I have with the python. The one problem I DID have was a connection I had just made adding an extension, and I KNEW I had not tightened it then forgot. I think if you check your connections regularly its probably safer than carrying water back and forth.

I never fill my buckets to the top. aia always fill them about 3/4 of the way. The thing with laminate flooring is that when you spill LARGE amounts of water on it, it will puff up and have to be COMPLETLY replaced. I have never spilled more than a couple of drops on it. I usually line the hallways and livingroom with towels before I start. Towels wouldn't work too well with 5 gallons on the floor, would it??!! LOL!!!

This is bad joo joo, too much fish poo poo, something you shouldn't do do. Sorry

Joe's got it right--bad mo jo for not doing water changes. And aesthetically, the water looks so polished--well, cleaning the inside walls of algae or slime helps!! But the fish are truly so much happier and healthier--I can tell, anyway!!! :dive2:

ROFLMBO You DO have a toilet or a bathroom sink, right? Then again, since you are in TN, living by a creek, maybe you don't have an indoor crapper, or indoor plumbing? Maybe you are hauling that creek water back up to fill the tank, too?

Duh! Pour the dirty fish water into the ****ter. It's not going to be any dirtier than the other stuff that gets "dumped" in there.

Seriously, I change my 10 gallon tank by using a 1 quart (that's one-quarter a gallon) cottage cheese container to bail the water out, unless I'm doing a gravel cleaning. It takes just a few minutes. Even if I were hauling it to the bathroom one gallon at a time it would not take more than ten minutes.

If you are so severely disabled that you can only lift one gallon (8 1/3 pounds) then surely you've learned to adapt and find new ways of doing things. If not, then perhaps you are a troll, as has been suggested.

Is it wise to dump aquarium water in a creek, that possibly has native fish living in it? If you have parasites or diseases, doing so could cause an outbreak of that in the native fish.
