Moss Arch

Jee thanks chris no I am inspired hmmmm

But I have a question, could metal screen work? Like the kind for windows??

While looking at your arch (great job by the way) I was inspired to think of how I could make a small cave by putting a back wall on an arch like yours. Perhaps I will have a post soon detailing how I made mine.

yeah see? I love this mesh it's so versatile. I can't even imagine the fun i'd have if i had access to a plasticworks hehe. I think it'd probably be pretty easy to just cut a back wall to fit, a few stitches, and tada! Now if you wanna get fancy, get some undergravel tunnels goin :grinyes:

You mean the mesh used in windows and sliding screen doors? If that's what you're thinking of, it's plastic and fine to use. I just like the plastic mesh instead of window screen mesh because the plastic mesh holds its shape better. I've seen a few moss walls made using screen mesh. It's readily available at any hardware store. Make sure it's clean though hehe.

Cool thx
I am off to build a moss wall,
A really cool moss well yes sir
Hum hum hum hum hum huuuuum huum

Well I didit, wi post some pics tommorrow I wil also take a week by week pc

Actually, many types of materials are used to make window screens. There is aluminum, fiberglass, and I think some varieties of plastics. Be sure which you are working with. I don't think I would put them in my tank.

Admittedly I haven't put anything made from any type of window screen in my aquarium so I wouldn't know. S'why I stick with the plastic mesh.

Nice! I was thinking about doing something similar but you beat me to it! :) I have been playing around with the mesh too, it IS so versatile. I can't wait to see it grow in, hopefully it will grow out AND inside the cave, in about 6 months anyways. :grinyes:

Good job!

I really hope it does grow inside but I don't think there's enough light. Well, we'll see and hopefully I'm wrong!

i'm gonna build a moss tree.

nice! Totally go for it and post pics :)

You know, I was thinking if I could find something to make a narrow cylinder of moss mesh float, I could anchor it to something (DW, rocks, buried mesh base) with nearly invisible nylon thread and have a cylinder of moss floating mid-column :p I'd have to somehow trap air and attach the bubble to the center of the cylinder (probably using silicone?). Oh this so isn't over...
