Most inquisitive fish?

I kept a number of species as a kid but with my new tank and Frijoles Fred, a betta, I have never seen such a curious fish! If I am moving plants around, he is right there: "Whatcha doin?" When I put the riccia under a hair net and the pearling lifted it up a fraction of an inch, I think Freddie dove right under before the shrimp even got there. "Just checkin' it out - its nice under here" the net holes couldn't have been more than 1/4" or so. He loves to squeeze through the plants and he surfs the outlet flow from the canister. "Just cruisin' baby"

Now the angels, they are relatively smart but it is all food motivated behavior. Freddie is just a curious cat. Anyone else got one of these?
 
I had a goldfish like that once, his name was George - LoL

I normally don't name fish, but a fish like that deserved a name, he was as much a pet as my house cats! He was one interactive fish!
 
My Betta Darius will not leave the gravel vacuum alone when I clean his tank. He is always poking at it and following it around. I have never had any other fish that seemed as genuinly curious about something other than food. Though I here puffers can get that way a bit.
 
I was putting new stuff in my 4foot community tank the other day and one of the pearl gouramis was nibbling on my arm the whole time and got a little flustered when i removed my arm.
Stuck it back in again to move something and it was all over me....
 
I've had a couple of fish like that. One was a paradise fish. My new female krib is already showing signs of being the nosy one.

It's a lot of fun to have interactive fish!
 
Puffers, in general. My dwarves are always first to investigate anything new, though one of my gold gouramie is very bold about new decorations and plants.

On the salty side, the scooter blenny will walk up your arm if you're working in the tank. Just flutters up, and settles down to wander around your arm. The lion fish is probably the most attentive through the glass and with new additions--and the first to try eating anything that gets dumped in there.
 
I had a betta for a couple of years that was quite tame. I could cup my hand and put it in the tank and he'd get inside and hang out. I just got another betta a week or so ago and already he's showing the same traits as my original betta. Very curious and will come right up to my hand when I put it in the tank. I'm guessing that bettas are just curious and brave fish in general :)
 
Curious Fish

Puffers - Figure-8 puffers were the most un-shy fish I had ever kept.

Ornate Bichir - Probably the most curious. This fish comes swims to the front of the tank and stares at me while I cook in the kitchen. I think it can smell the food/meat cooking.

I'll have to vote for a Paradise Fish, as well. I've kept just about everything, and nothing has been as brave and inquisitive as "Butch", my wife's Blue Paradise Fish. My Harlequin Rasboras will nip at the small gas bubbles formed on my arm when I'm pruning plants, but nothing is quite as brave as that Paradise.
