all right folks lets clarify. The tank was a switchover from a 20 long that was up for 18 months. 30 gallons of water,all the live sand and rock,the skimmer and the filter.so basically I added 20 gallons of fresh saltwater to my 20 and put it in a bigger glass box.The Montipora digitata was a freebie and is doing well 5" from the surface.Its only been in there a week and it extends its polyps so we'll have to wait and see on that one.And YES that's a betta sphere on the wall!! if the betta police come they're gonna get thumped!It belongs to my 8yr. old son and he's a brown belt!!Anyway dont fret folks new lights are comming soon...once I build the canopy.I test regularly and all my live stock are doing great in the larger volume of water.

No, just something against improperly keeping them in unfiltered, unheated enclosures of insufficient size...but thats a discussion for another thread.

You should just invest in MH lighting. It will save you in the long run since you will probably upgrade to them eventually.

I believe the one in the betta bowl that mounts on the wall. Atleast its a lot bigger enclosure than the little cup they sell them in.
