Back to the dikes issue...
You guys dont understand that Mr. Bush does not have all-power. This is not a dictatorship government where one person controls all. So please stop referring to Mr. Bush like he is the sole guy responsible for getting them fixed.
The State and City governments are largely responsible for getting the levees fixed. Although they may not supply to money for it, they play a LARGE role in actually getting them out there to fix it.
I dont mean to sound offensive, but nursie... Alot of what you said has already been said. Go back and check my first post on this thread. That supplies basic information on why aid cannot be gotten so quickly, about the dikes, and etc.
Although the fault is not on NO 100% for taking care of all this mess, it is largely on them. A friend of mine works in Law Enforcement. He supplied me with alot of information. Like said, NO government is substandard. They did not learn from other cities faults, and apply standards like they should have. Maybe getting their own city slammed by a hurricane might teach them to apply these standards.
