Looking for some idea's on how about to build a stand for roughly 3 tanks.

Looking for a stand to hold two, 10 Gallon tanks and one either 30 or 35 Gallon tank. Placement is not a big concern, either 10's on top or bottom.

Here is the link to my last DIY 55 Gallon Stand:

Should I stick with the 2x4 method?

Suggestions, Ideas, or Pictures would be greatly appreciated!

The tank will be used for breeding and grow out tanks, not that it really matters much.

This is one stand I built.

This one holds 2 x 20gal and a 5gal.

And this is what I'm working on now, for 2 x 80gals.

Progress so far.

As you can see I'm a fan of the 4x2 construction too, so I would stick to what you know works. :)

Your other stand looks great so get building.

If you built a rectangular frame, you wouldn't need the supports in the front. You could just have supports on the sides and back.

With smaller tanks thats fine. But those suckers are 80gal and 6ft long. The beam to span that (safely) takes too much headroom between the tank. So I went with supports up the front of the bottom tank and made it a "design element".

With smaller tanks on the top it would be fine to span the whole gap, as the smaller tank stands do.

thats what I was thinking, but i like how you did the dual 80 gal stand, I would like to add a bit of flare into my stand as well, but nothing that will limit access to the top of the tanks

here is how we did mine. It will be 75g bottom, 55g middle, 20 longs/15/10g top:

Nice looking stand. It's so nice to be able to weld. I was going to do one like that for my small room(I started a separate thread), but I have to assemble in place because of access. I have a bigger room occupied now, but if I ever truly get wild with this stuff, welded stands will be the direction I go.

very nice, I am actually a red seal welder, so thats always an option, I just dont have a machine yet...

What size HSS is that msjinkzd?

How high up are the top tanks going to be?
