They were all studio musicians who worked with many famous people! But there's no way we could have recognized any of them. Of course we know Joe (love him!) & Ringo (meh, not so much, a couple good tunes). Maybe it's just the all old guys look alike thing? I think it's nice Ringo & Joe had all of the on the birthday show etc.

"Benmont" Tench III was a founding member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Leland Bruce "Lee" Sklar toured with James Taylor, Toto, Phil Collins and other major rock and pop acts
Russell Kunkell was the studio and touring drummer for Crosby & Nash in the 1970s, and has played on all four of their studio albums.
So of the six, five were in bands that toured and recorded.

But not nearly as much as most were in the studio 
1 guy did tour at first but preferred studios. I bet touring can get old but nothing beats a live audience...& the $$ are probably better live...except drummers & bass players often make less...sometimes a lot less.

This is a truly amazing find. First, because of tho the stars are. Second, because it may be one of the greatest live concert albums of all time. Third, because it is HIGH QUALITY.
It is a good way to spend 2 hours and 12 minutes. Put it on while doing tanks. Listen to it over a few sessions. But for sure listen to it all...
