Right at 2" but i turned my 5' 120gal into a small sorta juvie tank, I have the 30 Mwela's and about 20 Dickfieldi in there now, i had to move out my Trets and I left my Lelupi and V. Moori in there plenty of room til they get big that is.. Which we know how fast Tang's grow LOL.. I am getting a order of N. Helianthus in next week i may have to set up my spare 56gal LOL..

N. helianthus! Oh boy, I love that fish!!! I can't wait to see a few pics of them.

Yeah sorry Efors i bailed out at the last minute on the order so none for me til later, but i do want to get a small group of them..

Altolamprologus compressiceps Muzi gold head update

  • The first batch of F1 Muzi gold head fry were spawned (or first noticed near the mouth of the shell on 11/3/11).
  • The first batch are about two months old and they are doing very well in a 10 gallon tank.
  • I have since added another batch of fry a few weeks ago.
  • Haven't had many die from the newer batch.
  • Just guess, but I'd say there are about 100 or so fry in there.
  • Here are a few pics from tonight - small fry are very hard top shoot ;)

Hey Pitt, the Muzis are still going strong with VERY minimal losses. I think the protein discussion with you has helped big time and also getting my pH issues under control. I did not experience my usual altolamp fry mass die off and I think I am through the critical first 2 months.

I have started keeping new calvus fry batches - since January 10th, no losses. Calvus seem to be a little more fragile than comps. I'll report back at two months.

Thanks,
Russ

Hey Pitt,

I was in Indy Monday-Weds: no plans to go back any time soon. ACA would be cool. Are those meetings just on Sundays? Sundays are tough for me. Also, when is it this year?

I've got a few friends from South Bend that would be interested in a road trip :)
