my 10g peppermint shrimp farm

im just concerned because i went to the LFS yesterday and they had a berried one with about 25 big green eggs. mine has about 75 orange ones

they're $9 a pop at the place with the berried one. where i mine they had just started getting saltwater tanks, at $3 a peice i should have gotten more :)

the green eggs mean that they are fertilized. The orange ones that you have are not.

ok thanks. i can see one of the others is saddled but i think the last one will take up the role of a male. hes a little smaller than the girls so i may have to wait a little, which wont be a problem since iv spent hours watching them before. i think ill pick up two more this weekend tho

you should get that one thats already prego with green eggs! that way you would already have one pregnant for sure and wouldn't have to wait either! its a win win! unless you won't spend 9 bucks on a shrimp lol im not sure i would either..

Wow I wish I saw this post ealier.

I just witnessed my blue pregger "splash" her eggs.

And believe me I was shocked:eek3:!
Because I didnt even know it was with babies. Now I'm a bit POED cuz the FS guy was quite agressive in catching her. [some new guy i never seen before, told him wut i wanted, and he just grabbed a net and just swiped her and antoehr rite outte the tank.

here's the tank now, still have four shrimp one berried with unfertilized eggs. that piece of open brain coral i got at a LFS, but it wasn't livestock that died on them more like the kind that you see at souvenir shops. i like the way it looks but I'm worried that it may have come from an unsustainable source...
