My 120 tall journal

Thanks everyone!! I had a lot of fun setting this up. I think I might try and put all the wood on one side, and keep most of the plants on one side. Keep a nice place for the fish to hide and still have open water with a little cover from the wood on the other side.

I think I am going to put some peppered or panda corys in here once I get some more hatchets. This tank feels like it needs a bigger fish, but the only big fish I want is an oscar and the other fish probably wouldn't like that lol.

I learned something about bristlenose plecos while setting this up, and that is that they have spines in the side of their head, kinda by the mouth that they can thrust out. The spines are very sharp and hard. While setting up territories some of the males were being rough with each other and thrusting these spines at each other. They have all settled down, but holy cow that is creepy!!!

Thank you :)

On my next day off I am going to get some more hatchets for the tank and move all the wood to one side. I think it would be interesting to see how it looks with all wood on one side, and all plants on the other. I have a decent amount to create some nice cover on one side.

Nice :)
Can't wait for more updates

Did a little rearranging. I like it much better this way. Also some pics of the fish. I wasn't able to get any new fish yet, I want to wait a little bit just to make sure everything is settling in right. Not the best pictures because it's only with my 5 mega pixel camera on my phone.

Let me know what you think, or if you have any questions ect :)

Hey there- I really love the backround on this tank, it gives it a nice feel. I just sold my 120 tall, and about a week after I found the perfect plant for it ;) If you're looking for an AWESOME centerpiece... try an apongeton ulvaceus, it'll come as a bulb, but in three weeks mine has 15 leaves total, 8 of which are to the top of my 125. Kinda makes me wish I hadn't sold the tall....

Thanks for the suggestion. I had looked into apongeton's before, but right now I seem to have enough plants lol. I want to keep a little open space for the fish to swim around and some open ground for when I get cories.
