thanks everyone for the compliments... i have some more changes planned for the tank.
bugman, it is regular gravel, nothing special. its as simple as a planted tank can get.
here is my prgression over the past few weeks. i moved the moss wall to the back right of the tank so it will hopefully get more light and grow in better, even through the saes munch on it. i flipped the center piece wood and tied the phillipine fern onto it. i added a new piece of driftwood and have some bushy plants on the left now so that it will look more even once they grow in.
the start:
original centerpiece
the change
kept trying to figure out the placement of the new driftwood.
I think the wood placement on the 5th picture down would be better. The pieces of wood on the right all point to the right, and with the new piece pointing left, it breaks the monotony and makes it looks more natural.
Wonderful tank! I have to also agree that I like the 5th picture placement the best, for the exact reasons dirtydawg said. It makes the layout of the tank instantly striking!
Idk i like the last picture best since the wood breaks away from the whole pointing up theme. Right now the last shot might look "empty" but wait till the background/midground plants fill in. Will look Hawt!
thanks for the advice everyone. it was a pain to re-arrange everything so i will let it grow in for a while and then switch it back if im still unhappy with it. should i move the center wood back the way it was and cover it with ferns in the arch shape??? i appreciate the opinions/advice.
