My 15 gallon project: Using fluorite, but not really...

I was going to do something like this at one point but in then end decided I wanted a jungle instead of a garden, so I didn't. My first thought was to use lowball glasses (http://www.amazon.com/Lowball-Glasses-Set-of-4/dp/B000HRV5BY) because I like the height of them and they're really cheap at second-hand stores, but then I saw glass light fixture things (http://www.lampsplus.com/Products/Glass-Shades/) at Goodwill and I decided to be even more brilliant and use them with netting over the bottom for a little circulation. I think they were like 50 cents a piece and really cool antiquey ones, but I never followed through so I don't know how it would've worked. I do know they would've been pretty overflowing with plants, the light shining off the crystal cuts... *sigh* I need another tank again.

Love the idea of the individual cups. Did you ever think about leaving them exposed? Maybe a super thin layer of sand to cover the bottom?Added dimension is always nice.
