My 15 gallon project: Using fluorite, but not really...

Ohhh, shiny :]

Hope this turns out good!

I saw something similar, someone had a goldfish tank with glass vases and what looked like dirt with gravel on top. No substrate, just the glass vases, I thought it looked AMAZING.

Update:

I repainted the back of the tank. I only wish I did a better job scraping off the old paint because you can definitely tell where the remnants were...oh well.

Tank move went extremely well also. But I forgot to grab a gravel vac (a python-like hose is not going to work in a dorm lol) so I'm waiting for mine to arrive before I post a pic in the photo section. The white sand looks awesome but waste is very noticeable. I am thinking I need a small PH to get more flow along the bottom. I have heard people like the Hydor Koralias, so should I get a nano/mini? Any suggestions?

koralia seems like overkill. I like the tom dive clean micro pump for things like this. I actually use them as filters in tiny tanks, I must have 4 or 5 running right now. They make a mini version that is longer than the micro, that is adjustable speed. it's plenty to create flow without disturbing anything.

and since I'm just jumping in here, I laughed out loud at your comment about washing flourite... I KNOW I SHOULD, I know how dusty it is, and I still keep on throwing it in unwashed. takes forever to clear.

I'll have to look into those then!

I'm definitely glad I washed it :grinyes:

they do seem nice I wonder what they look like mounted. I think I might buy two.
