My 1850 gallon cichlid tank

Yeah it was to emphasize all of the wood work and also bring some more light to the back half of the tank(very hard to get light to the back because it sits even further back than the top back wall, the wall you can see above the tank).

Unbelievable (in the good way). How much and how often do you change the water?

I am doing 20-30% water changes every two weeks at the moment.

Thanks for the reply. I have to say, your dedication to the hobby (and your fish) is amazing.

Thanks very much, but I am sure you and others have the same dedication as me.

David,

How do you keep your PH up for the Cichlids with so much driftwood? Where is your PH.

Thanks

My pH is always kept at 7.8, my kH is 1-2 dkh at the moment, so taking into account that my tank kH is so low ,it would fair to assume that I would have a hard time keeping my pH at where I keep it. Usually water in a fish tank without plants has about 3ppm of Co2 (Co2 can be lower sometimes) and taking this into account my pH should be around 7-7.3. So how do I keep it where it is, with an algae turf scrubber as a filter. The problem I have is not getting it to go up to a 7.8 pH, I have to inject Co2 to keep it down. I did once not check my Co2 bottle , it ran out and the pH went up 8.6 in a couple of days, I will always check from now on.

It's easy to say that it's cost that keeps me from having something like that... but even if I had ALL the money, I still probably wouldn't be able to create something that amazing.

Don't be so modest pbecot, if you really had a go at it I am sure you could do something like this. Anyway thanks for the complement.
