My 45 Gallon Heavily Planted - 8 Weeks In - Seriously!

DavidFBT - Along with a pretty good plant assortment (it's best to call and go by right after a new shipment has arrived), the Wet Spot probably has about 500 tanks of assorted fish. The also have a lot of tanks for sale; a wide range with very good prices (will likely buy my next tank from them). They are also really stocked on supplies, etc. The only thing they don't carry is Eheim - other than that they pretty much have it all - it's a sweet store!

Your hairgrass would grow even faster if you thin it out to 3-4 stems every inch in a checkerboard pattern.

Thank you - I have actually rescaped the foreground, covering the front with glosso with microswords behind (in front of the driftwood), and the hairgrass moved out to the sides. I will post some updated pics soon.

I picked up some more glosso for the foreground (and a little hair grass for the far left side). The glosso looks kind of crappy (especially compared to what I already have planted). I started working with it and it seems very hard to handle. Any ideas? I'll get to it and likely post a couple of updated pics tomorrow.

you can leave the glosso in the pot for a week, let it pick up with the great lighting/co2 thats in your tank. Then after the week plant.

Sure BK, now you tell me (lol). I just spent 3 hours with it - wow, what a mess it was. I had 5 pots and got maybe 2 or 3 pots of good glosso out of that. Anyway - it's in now. It just doesn't look as good as the original batch I put in. Do you think it will still take off and blend with the other?

Foreground Progress

Here is the rescape on the foreground. The glosso came in 2 different bunches - the first was much easier to work with than the second. Just
hope they fill in together.

I put a couple of rows of microswords behind the glosso and directly in
front of the driftwood, and set 2 bunches of hairgrass (far left and right).

I also wanted to sneak in a shot of a few leaves that are popping through. I forgot I even put it back there (surprised they could make it through).
