Fishrod, what happened in your case was it a seam break like
jaysen? Thank goodness for insurance huh. Water claims scare me. A relative had a pipe break while on vacation, then after the insurace paid on the claim they were dropped from the company. Then looking for another company one of the first few questions they ask is if you had a water calim. Well, it took months to find another company that would accept them. Everyone else refused to take a client whith a past water damage claim.

Actually the BIG flood was my water heater but the cause of the failure was due to rust. I had a SW set up in the closet where the water heater was and it definately rusted it where it failed. I also had previous smaller floods caused by sump malfuntions that only cost me several hundred. I did not use insurance.:sad:

thanks guys. wish i had pics from the weeks before it broke. it was covered in moss and ferns. had large sailfin mollies and was just breathtaking even compared to what i posted.

That is horrific

As someone who bought a locally made tank this scares the bejesus out of me. My tank is a 45gallon local made glass tank from a very reputable lfs. I guess being a smaller tank the tolerances can be far less than the massive weight of the bigguns. She's been up and running now for about 5weeks, so far no issues.. eek...

im debating the 600 as of now. will take a lot of time and money. its in my garage for when im ready. yeah these pics and the prochilodus are all that remains. sad but a life experience and learning lesson. thanks for all the compliments.

WOW!

That tank was absolutely amazing. I am SO SOOOOO sorry to hear about your loss. I have a 180 and we live in a rental house right now...I would be completely SICk. Please post pics when you set up your 600. We are all dying to see it! Good luck to ya and God bless.
