I have not studied the subject very much, but it refers to the exchange of gases in the tank, it's possible that the plastic cover interferes with that.

I did holes and there is a filter..ye i knows i should b fine but i certainly gonna look for a plexi glass

I think you have a very creative aquarium, but there are not many plants in it. I would add more if I were you. But I definitely love the skull in the aquarium. Great idea.
