Here is the link to my journal in the photo section. If I knew better I would have posted it in here.

This weekend is the big day. Now that I know a little more, I am rescaping my tank. Saturday (07/31) I bought a massive piece of driftwood for my centerpiece in the tank. It is soaking now and when I get home from work I have to drain the cooler and fill it back up. When I do that I will take a pic of it so you guys can see it. Now to the point.

Current plant stock:
1 Water Sprite
2 Java ferns
1 Anubias var. nana
SEVERAL Vals
All the rest of the plants from the pics have been pulled out.

Plants that I am ordering:
Dwarf baby Tears
Glosso
Red Rotala
Java Moss

Whats coming out of the tank. (in the pics)
Large rocks and driftwood.

Now this is what I need a little help with:
Where to plant my plants so that it is visually appealing. I know I am going to attach my javas to my wood, and so my moss (which I need help-pointers on how to achieve what I am looking for) Same goes for the Anubias var. nana it will also attach somewhere on the driftwood.

So that leaves.. Dwarf baby Tears, Glosso, Red Rotala, Water-Sprite and all my Vals.

I was thinking of placing most of my vals behind my wood as a background, and the glosso around the front of the wood. I was thinking of leaving the sprite where it is except not in the rock, which I have another question about. This sprite has a huge root system, do you think it would be safe planting directly in to the subsrate or do you think it would look ok in a small planter?

I will take a pic of the wood tonight so that you guys can see just how HUGE it is.

As promised a pic of the wood

With Java Fern, I do agree that they look better stuck in between a piece of wood. Make sure the plant isn't all the way inside, but merely sticking out between a crack.

In the end, you're Baby Tears and Glosso might end up mixing up if you plant them near each other, so just watch out. I think water sprite is more of a corner plant rather than a central plant, but anything can work. Red plants should also not be in the dead center, so move it slightly left or right.

I find with vals, you also have to figure out flow because that will determine how the vals will look. Just a thought.

With the water sprite, I would plant it directly into the substrate. You might consider some of the roots just to make a faster growth in the susbtrate.

That wood looks like a pirate ship, Cool!!! I use the RedSea paintball Co2 setup with a 20z bottle refills at Sports Authority, but I think there are cheaper ones out there.

I wish I knew where..The one I like is this

But I don't think it is for paintballs canisters.

Can someone explain to me the reason for the Solenoid? I want to seriously start considering something OTHER than DIY.

The Solenoid allows you the ability to stop the flow of Co2 with either PH Controller, a timer or manually unplugging.

I've never seen the ones you have pic. but to be honest I haven't really been looking either.
