My 55g Planted Re-Scape

The Solenoid allows you the ability to stop the flow of Co2 with either PH Controller, a timer or manually unplugging.

I've never seen the ones you have pic. but to be honest I haven't really been looking either.

UMM ok, so if you dont have a Solenoid..What just turn the nob till the valve closes..That sounds to simple.

Well not so simple although true I think most without solenoid just allow the Co2 to run 24x7 I think. Getting the bubble count right every time making manual adjustments like that is risky. Any time you set or make changes for Co2 you should have time to monitor the tank for several hours to make sure you don't have issues.

Lesson learned from person experience I decide to make changes one morning before leaving for work. 10hrs later when I got back home the fish were gasping at the top of the tank. Lost a few fish that was before I learn how to actually use the PH controller and use a drop checker as a backup.

Would you say a pH Controller is an absolute necessity for a pressurized system?

No none the least actually many experienced hobbyist with plants don't use or stop using ph controllers once they are comfortable it just makes life easier, at least it does for me. It takes a little more effort to set and maintain Co2 levels without it IMO.

I'd recommend a drop checker as a quick reference of dissolved Co2 levels in the tank. When I was running my Co2 24x7 as long as the Co2 indicator stayed green I didn't have issues overnight with having to add O2.

I do have that.

OK OK OK I had to put that CHESSY fake stump in there because the Khulis were going NUTS because I took their home away. This is temporary in until I make my DYI cave for them.

Wow that wood is cool! Just a suggestion, try moving it to the left (for preference or right) so it's not so dead center. Off-center centerpiece if you know what I mean ;) Maybe move the big rock near the kuhli cave for a kind of cluster.

It'll be awesome when your plants fill in, great start.

Well I wanted it in the center because I am going to plant the plant around it. My LFS (not box store) Ordered 6 peices for me to decide which one I wanted, and this one WON.

NOW I NEED help.... I have a VERY nice person sending me some java moss and i want to attach it to the wood...Can someone give me some recommendations? Never done this.
