My 70 Gallon Reef Log

Grins: did you use those "tank matts" under your aquarium?

I like the look of that tank too. Looks like they maybe used the pillar method of drilling the rock and placing an acrylic tube for support.

I'm horrible with suggestions on stocking these days. I'm like a kid in a candy store. I do like anthias but they aren't easy. I'm still tempted by the lyretails and bartletts though. Some of the fairy wrasses are beautiful too. I told you...kid in a candy store.

Well tonight I bought the last of the big ticket items. Got my Corallife Auqalight Pro (36") and my Octopus Skimmer (300 gal). I will try to take some pictures tomorrow, need to get the styrofoam and a mounting board for the electronics and do that install tomorrow night.

Thursday 19 July Update

Tonight I started completing the plumbing and installing the electronics (1st DC8 for AC,JR and MH Ballast. Cleaned the sand...not well enough it seems. Tomorrow I add more RO/Salt and then start to mix the water from the 45. Will move the fish and corals to the QT until I get the main tank clear.

I am getting concerned the I don't have enough LR to make it look as good as I want it to. Just might have to go the LFS and get some more cured LR.:-)

I got this sun coral and it should arrive Sat....got to get that tank settled.

tank is looking good so far....I personaly think that it makes no odds how many time you wash the sand, its always gonna go coudy when it in the tank and covered with water...

Great sun coral by the way..

Thanks Niko. My LFS told me not to use my existing sand bed unless I really sterilized it....was way too much work so I just bought new. Can't wait to fill it up today.
