Well I haven't done this, and missed the opportunity with my 45...but here goes. I am really excited. I picked up my new tank the Oceanic Tech 70 gallon with the starfire glass front. The stand is great, I will finally have room to get to the sump and all the electronics - there is the large front door (shown open in the 2nd pic) and there are 2 side doors for more access. The great thing is the tank is pre-drilled and comes with the plumbing kit (bulk heads, returns, etc). So this is day one and I will probably get it set-up this weekend. Have been curing extra LR in a little 10 gallon preparing.

nice i cant wait to see it set up ....definately try and take lots of pics along the journey

Beautiful tank. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Luckily the stand is taller than my three. I have two scotties and a westie.

Yep, that will work! My goldens on the other hand....slobber and stand up against the darn glass. The goby is funny, just hovers there watching them probably thinking ":silly:You can't get me! Neener neener!"

The golden in your avitar is really cute. My kids really were torn between golden and scottie. We now breed scotties and the westie is pretty much a rescue. As they say, he isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I really am trying tocheck out the aquascaping and paying closer attention to that this time. I like the "Mountain" look (like the attached photo) on one side sloping to a plane on the other with flat surfaces for corals. I want to have a shady place becuse after a while I want to get a sun coral. I will transfer the ricordea collection over as well as the other misc corals.

Big decision which is frustrating the heck out of me is the lighting. I want to have a MH with the CF, but boy do those get expensive. Still weighing the T5 option since you can get the light without the heat.

I am going to take my time becuase I really want this tank to look great, so will probably add lots of LR over time. I already have about $350 in rock that I handpicked with lots of caverns and the like.

Any suggestions? I really will probably just keep the fish stock low. I have the pair of clowns, the bicolor and a blue tang.
