My First 75G SW

Crabs eat snails because they either need a bigger shell and couldn't find one in your tank or that they are hungry and aren't getting enough food. They are oppurtunistic feeders and if they are hungry they will find easy prey.

Or they are bored? I swear mine killed 3 in one week, didn't move into their shells and didn't sit there to eat them. It was spooky.

I'd not get all those snails at once. It is a decent number for a 75 but in a new tank they'll starve. Just get a few and add for what algae issues you're having so they have food.

On the peppermints I'd get a larger group, they like the security of say 5-6.

yes ill get them when its only needed. right now i have one nassarius snail(not sure). hopefully hes still alive inside of my sand.

peppermints, thats cool the more the more to watch =)

in the future. will all these snails and the peppermint be okay with a watchman goby?

personaly, i would start off with 10 of each type you listed, maximum, and use that as the baselines for you snails, add more if and when required. Its already been pointed out that they will starve, and i would say exactly te same..

Hah.. yeah.. I have had a couple like that. I moved them to the refugium.

now on the stock list:
yellow-headed jawfish
flame angel
maroon clownfish
pink-spotted goby
purple firefish

perhaps Melanurus Wrasse?

internet sources are telling me different things on each fish about their care level.
