my first pics...

Well I tested the water after the loss and the tests came out fine. The water I put in was colder than the tank water so that could have done it. I am going to replace them today and possibly start another tank...

FishmasteR2002, are you happy with the blue crayfish? What do you feed them? Do they bother other fish in the tank?

My tank is cycling and I can hardly wait to add a couple. I saw two in a LFS while I was at lunch today for $19.99 each. I wanted to get them SOOO badly. But, aside from the tank not being cycled, it's snowing here, and it's about an hour and a half commute home. Too many risks for $20 creatures.

Nice pics.

But...

Why did you lose 6 fish during your water change?

Were the temperatures of the tank water and 'new' water the same??

Nice pics by the way.. :)

I only paid 13 bucks for mine and he doesn't bother my other fish unless they go under his rock. Get him some rocks to make a cave. They eat anything the fish don't eat so that's a good thing. They are very pretty and the guy at my LFS where I bought him that they grow to be about 8 to 12 inches long and get a red hue with the blue. I can't wait to see what colors he turns. If you get one and want to eat more than whatever the fish leave behind you can feed him sinking pellets. Mine doesn't like the light to much so he stays under his rock and comes out at night. I hope you get one they are really neat. :)

PS- I posted more pics, click on link in my sig!!! :D

I love it when people say "his rock", or "the Pleco's cave", reffering to a fish's territory, not sure why... it just cracks me up.

I also love how the cories just lounge around in groups like in your first pic, the expressionless looks.

And just out of curiosity, if the water was acidic, could the pop can leach stuff harmfull to fish?

Also, nice pics, gouramies are almost my favorite kind of fish.

nice pix and fish.

i would be somewhat disturbed if i lost 6 at a water change.... might be, like you said, temperature shock. the water should be only *slightly* cool to the touch if you are adding it to a high 70s tank........

did you use dechlorinator?
