I do a 100 lt water change after seeing some signs of stress in my fish, I was already planning on doing it but I've had a busy two or three weeks so I finally did it yesterday and it seems the fish are doing better at least to the naked eye, I'm also preparing to receive some fish to the QT tank in a short time maybe a week or two.
These are a couple of photographs from tonight in my fish room, there is still a lot of work to be done, but here is the water change area that will be used for fresh and salt water, a long time without updating here but I will be working as time goes by allow me.
Last night I uninstalled my 29 gallon saltwater qt tank, wondering if I will use it again or if it may be more practical to use smaller tanks, I don't like tall tanks and this is one, so it wouldn't help as storage for larger fish. For the moment it will be empty.
New looks in the fish room, I moved some things I had on the other side to make room for the freshwater tanks, and at the end of last month I was working on the painting. My freshwater fish have recovered from the ich infestation I had, but they are still in a holding tank, since I got a 70 gallon tank for them and I haven't had the time to install it, plus I'm stuck and haven't been able to get everything I need to start, this tank will have a sump for greater filtration efficiency, and at the back of the room I will put some shelves, maybe a fish reception tank and what I intend to be my desk, I'm still looking inspiring ideas in any way.
I'm going to start with some easy to keep corals soon, I put one of my favorite tables where the freshwater tank was and I'm putting in a tank of just 10 gallons to try with corals and see what happens.
Very busy these days and analyzing where I'm going to acquire my first frags of corals, taking it with patience, I also have to work to reduce the nutrients in this tank and also in my main tank, this weekend I did a cleaning in the sump and also discarded most of the elements that make up the biofilter because they had accumulated a lot of detritus and that caused me problems with high nitrates which I have not been able to lower even with water changes. To prevent debris from accumulating in the biological filtration, I have decided to place a support that I made with PVC and use it as a base and change the ceramic rings for matrix, I will surely see a change in the nutrients within a few weeks.
