Congratulations. They are beautiful. I have around 50 guppy fry that are about 4 weeks old split between 3 different tanks now. Cant put them in my 4 foot community tank. Nothing survives the attentions of my angel fish in there!

Fake plants are fine ! I'll tell you from experience that a tank with fake plants in it is way easier to care for than a planted !!! And with some of the fake plants they have today (as expensive as they can be)...some of them once you get them in the scape, it's hard to tell they're fake !
I have halfblack pastel guppies, beautiful little fish ! I lost both moms but thankfully I have 4 little fry from the last mom's batch. One of them, from a previous batch is male but the other three are too small to know yet. I'm hoping I get at least one female so that I can breed up some more to sell.
I have found that guppy fry do amazingly well in a tank with just water. Since I don't have a tank to put small guppy fry in where they wouldn't get eaten by something...and no more room to set up more tanks....I put them in a one gallon container with some floating live plants and change the water every day. I have a 20hex tank that will be available to raise them in once I bring the stappersi fry to the lfs...which will be soon.

Thanks guys for the responses I love the fake plants for that reason (very easy to maintain) a couple of the plants look real but a few of them that I purchased from Petsmart dont look as good. Definatley like the background cause it adds some "depth" to the tank IMO. The little ones are doing great, they grew a tiny bit and are looking more like guppies!
What's really funny is I dont think my twig catfish is too impressed with them right now, they have discovered his veggie pellets and are starting to explore them alot more (even nibble on them a bit) it's quite entertaining to watch hahaha.
I'll keep everyone updated!

aw thanks! and yes it has been a big year for us, we have under 3 months left till the big day and then after our wedding we have 4 to go to until May 2007, it's going to be interesting.
We just booked our honeymoon, so excited about that now. We're doing 7 nights southern caribean cruise and then stopping in florida for 2 weeks where we've rented a disney villa It should be fun, I havent been to florida in 10 years!
