my humble tylo snail tank

Beautiful, thanks for sharing!

thanks!!!! :)

What plants have you had success with under Sulawesi conditions? I'm trying to find some things will live at a pH of 8.0 and temp of 82 F. Thanks very much!

hmmmm.. actually not much plants. if they do, they dont grow fast enough. Try hornworts. i have salvanias and duckweeds too. But they are just barely surviving.

whao even anubias??!! your snails must be a hungry lot!

I fed them algae and sinking wafers almost daily.

Cabomba carolinia does well in hard, alkaline water. Here are some other options according to my book;

-Aponogeton elongatus
-Hygrophilia
-Sagittaria pusilla
-crokscrew vallisneria

I have no clue if any of those grow fast enough.

The color on those yellow bodied snails is crazy! Are those the orange tylo?

see the pic, my tylo snails sometimes gave off this white things from their bodies. i am thinking it could be the sperm? anyone have any idea what is it actually?

anyway, just some update on my tylo snail tank. changed the lightings to LED, so much more power savings and no heat. The snails are having a great time chewing on the plants added. However, the frequencies of newborns are lesser nowadays.
