My L-144 Project

yep, i've listed a lot of what i feed before but i can't list everything in one sitting. it's just not possible. my tanks do get mostly veggies and prepared food though. it just happens when i have something i'm not gonna eat all of it pretty much goes in if it's natural. if i can i'll slice it up and freeze it and then throw it in a sandwich bag. i do stay away from citrus though.

how big do they have to be to sex them? i have one thats 3 or so inches and doesn't have a bristly nose so i think its a female...

I read online that you can't sex them till their roughly 8 months old, but that's not necessarily true for each critter.

What do you do with green beens, do you blanch, or use from a can?
i use green beans, spinach and peas all from a can. i put them in a strainer and rinse them pretty good to reduce the salts and preservatives first. i'm not sure if it's necessary but i do it. of course i de-skin the peas prior to feeding. canned is nice for this. no rehydrating!

not only that but the spinach i lay out thin on a piece of wax paper and freeze it. then i break it up and put it in a ziploc and back into the freezer. slap the baggie on the counter a couple times to break it back up. pick out a piece wade it around for about 30 seconds and let go once the fish won't leave me alone.

anything that needs to be sliced can be layed flat, frozen and bagged as well.

my small male is about 2" give or take (not including tail fin) and he definitely has bristles. i haven't had hundreds so i can't say if that's normal or not.

good idea, the zucchinis get messy after a *** or two, then just break apart all over the place.

green peas,, garden peas or frozen, nuc in microwave in a glass of water just covering peas for 10 - 20 sec and peel...

Thats the quickest way of doing them

I am so glad that I work at a pet store. I have always wanted bristle nose plecos so I ended up getting 2 pair, one for each of my tanks. Then I saw some rubberlip/nose plecos and got a couple because they are more active. Then today I was looking on the order list and saw that L144's were available so I had to get some. And since I work there I will just be getting them for cost basically, I am getting 6 so I have a chance at getting a pair. But now that I have the other 6 I think I need another tank or need to take some back to work. I am excited though. Are they just like bn's except for color or what?

They are a bristlenose, just a different color morph.

Oh, ok. For some reason I was thinking they were a subspecies or something, I think it was because they have their own L number. Since they are just a color morph would it be possible to get a blue eyed brown? Sorry to go off track, just curious.
