my nano tank journal

Looks great. Congrats on the vortech! You can definitely see the SPS polyps coming out. Just make sure you stay on those WC's until you get a skimmer and keep your bio load down.

thanks mate, the vortech is brilliant, the SPS is definately loving it. heres an updated pic...

if u look at the top righthand side of the large cluster you can see it is darkening up and turning green which is probably a good thing! i hope so anyway, lol

the dead brain coral next to it seems to be coming back to life.

and i have some new additions...

got these for free! in fact the only coral i have paid for is the orange zoo's - ten bucks :)

Wow they look a lot better already. Definitely see the polyp extension now. Nice looking new Trachphyllia!!! Wish I could get some freebies :( Give them a little mysis now and then and don't blast them with too much of that vortech's flow.

Exactly, where it will be slowly digested for over a thousand years :)

A medicine/eye dropper or turkey baster are good tools to spot feed. Should be new/clean obviously.

Puts my 10g nano to shame lol even though I got a candy cane coral that is about two lbs for 20$ lol.. Seattles craigslist needs to step it's game up.

well that tank has been simmering away nicely, the diatoms and cyano are starting to go away, there is another type of algae now, like small hard green spots that is kinda annoying lol.

my first specks of coraline algae are growing on the glass which is pretty exciting stuff!! also added a peppermint shrimp and some more zoos and morphs.

redid the aquascape, i dont really have the right shaped pieces to do what i want to do, but this is the best i could come up with before i got annoyed and stopped :)

Thats a very nice tank. Puts mine to shame 3 times over.

i have spent a grand total of $25 on corals... sounds like you just need more freebies :D
