Most likely breeding. Try not to get fish with unusual colours or names such as "jelly bean" or "painted"; those convicts are dyed (a painful process with few survivors). All colour should eventually fade from them as the dye fades.

these are natural , i have read on dyed fish and felt sick with what they do to those poor fish. its real funny tho as the small one it was near the same colour as the big one but now its started going orange under the belly and bits of the fins and they keep hanging around a brown rock i have then they go near the ship. so could they be male/female .

Then why were they labeled as jellybeans? Dye fades nearly completely in a couple of weeks time.

becouse a guy from another forum said thats what they look like, the couple i got them off said they were parrot ciclids but when i looked on internet they looked nothing like them

Now that I look at them, they do look kind of parrot-shaped. Don't rely on me for the ID, though, I know nothing of cichlids

I think it is safe to assume that you have a male and female; the female being the one with the orange belly. Sounds like they are getting cozy! ;)

They are jelly bean convicts which are related to parrot cichlids just a different hybrid. I'm pretty certain the pink color is natural, especially if pink convicts were used to create them. I know with regular convicts the females get orange on their belly when they are ready to breed. Congrats on the future babies :) If they are anything like regular convicts it will be the first of many

ty im so excited . so there not dyed as dwarf puffers has frightened me .by saying if there jelly beans then they could of been dyed .
