My Online Ordering Experiences, for info

OK the heat is reduced on Aquabotanic.

The apartment manager on the property next to my apartments just called me. They have had some gadget they found near the woods on the ground and just figured out it was a CO2 regulator. They later found the packing slip and box in the woods with my name on it.

It looks like somebody stole it off my doorstep about a week ago or it was delivered to the wrong address.

Somebody needs to use shipment tracking!

Also, I guess I'm lucky that the person who stole them was unaware that it had some value.

Oh my!!! What terrible luck!

I ordered my lighting from Drs. Foster and Smith, and I must say, I am THRILLED. They packed them really well and the shipping was prompt. Not to mention, the box and all the packaging peanuts turned into a total kitten party for a few days. I'm still finding little bits here and there. :D

I ordered my CO2 regulator from www.aquariumplants.com. I opted for the UPS ground shipping on Feb. 11 and just now got a notice that it's been shipped out and I should receive it today. I'm not TOO thrilled with how long it took for them to get my order together, but I've yet to be able to make a full judgement on them since I'm still patiently awaiting my order.

I also just placed a large order from www.aquabotanic.com. Rob is an old friend of mine (actually met him here years ago!) so I'd like to support his business. I've heard a lot of good about his service, and only a few bad apples. Hopefully things turn out well for me, too. I was very pleased with the fact that immediately after placing my order, he personally sent me an email (not yet knowing who I was) to confirm and let me know how the shipping would work. That's major brownie points in my book. I'll post an update on how my plants turn out.

I've heard a lot of GOOD about AZGardens' plant shipments, but only bad about their fish shipments. Which is disappointing, because they have a lot of the fish I'd like to have. But I won't risk it.

I had good results from Rob for plants but if you bump into him tell him to print out invoices and stick them in the box and that he needs to ship things with tracking.

Wee-heee, thought I'd jump in with my tale as well.

Ordered some plants AGES (2years) ago from www.aquariumgarden.com. They have a reasonable range, their prices aren't bad and get this...you don't pay for the plants until after you have received them and check all is well!

I seem to recall ordering some rotala indica, hornwort and some dwarf sagittarius and it all came well packaged. Separate bags, wrapped in newspaper, heat pack above and below. The only thing that remains in my tank is the dwarf sag as I've had several rearranges of the tank in the 2 years since, in fact....it's about time for another!

I've also ordered plenty from Fosters & Smith and BigAl's and have yet to be disappointed with either of them.

Just ordered a 5# co2 tank from beveragefactory.com and it shipped promptly with a shipping notification from the company.

I've had very good luck ordering food and supplies from petmountain.com. The prices are great, shipping is fast and they often have promotions with free shipping or 10% off your order.

I've had bad luck with thatpetplace.com ordering supplies. Communication is very poor. I've ordered three times from them. Twice they were out of stock on items and just left them out of my shipment instead of contacting me to see if I wanted something else instead. The other time I never received my order and never got any responses to my emails. I had to call my credit card company and have them do a chargeback.
