Sean, I hate to be a downer but that broken cross brace is worrying me. Is it just siliconed onto the rim? You might need some kind of external bracing or a new top frame...

OK, I guess I didn't read carefully, but what is the glass piece in the top center? Was there any evidence of a plastic center brace? My 120g long, 5ft x 18 inches, has 1 as do my 55g & 75g tanks...

I don't want to answer for Sean but if you read through the whole thread, I think the original plastic center brace cracked at his first test fill so he replaced it with a glass one

The tank never had a plastic center brace. There is broken shards of glass under the frame that used to be the original glass brace.when I got the tank there was a glass center brace that was siliconed to the plastic trim that failed the first water test.this new center brace is a good and if not better than the original center brace this tank had. But it's never had a plastic brace.

OK, but I'm still concerned. Any "modern" tank of 4 or 5 ft has a center brace...how thick is the glass? "Original" glass brace?? What are the dimensions of this tank? I had a "DIY" 40g long rimless that had very thick glass & a glass strip in the bottom to "support" the sides, no bowing at all, but your tank is much, much bigger...I'm worried it's a reptile tank, silicone & glass isn't "original" equipment on any tank I've seen, "under the rim" less so. Silicone is stretchy, not supportive against water pressure...
