OK, but I'm still concerned. Any "modern" tank of 4 or 5 ft has a center brace...how thick is the glass? "Original" glass brace?? What are the dimensions of this tank? I had a "DIY" 40g long rimless that had very thick glass & a glass strip in the bottom to "support" the sides, no bowing at all, but your tank is much, much bigger...I'm worried it's a reptile tank, silicone & glass isn't "original" equipment on any tank I've seen, "under the rim" less so. Silicone is stretchy, not supportive against water pressure...

I dont understand your concern, its had a center brace from day one. The glass that makes up the tank is 3/8" thick. The tank is 60"L x 18"W x 23"T. This wasnt a reptile tank, it had an overflow box when i got it for a sump filter, so it wasnt a reptile tank.

The water test at the 24hr mark is going great, i should be able to paint the background and get it up on the stand tomorrow!

I also got a 11 port surge protector power brick yesterday from work, this is what will be breathing life into the entire system.

I have had large tanks with the glass supports in the middle just like you have. I never had any trouble. I like how you "got" that from work. I used to have a job like that.

@ pinkey-I think he means that he purchased it frpm his work. He works at Best Buy, hopefully he would not be stealing from a company that is on the brink of bankrupcy.

@ sean- its very nice to see water in that tank! Have you considered leaving the back unpainted and allowing for multiple viewing angles? I just asked because i have never tried that ( i use poster board or black spraypaint) but ADA tanks (like the one Tom Barr has) look really nice with no back ground plus you can see everything. just a thought. keep up the good work.

its nice to finally have water in the tank, im relieved the brace is holding too. If the tank was able to be viewed from more than just the front i would leave the background, but the tank is up against a wall.
