I needed a stand for my 37 eclipse, and had some stuff laying about.

I figure, since I had it, the 30 long would make a nice sump/fuge.

So far this is what it looks like. Panels and piping to come later.

Sure am. The specs say the bottom is tempered and sides not. I am going to order up a glass drill from the bay, and put a hole on each end on the side. Then the piping will come down the outside almost futuristic looking down into the sump.

I am thinking of a stainless panel for the bottom. Could look pretty hot. I am also adding in place of the built in filter, a set of t-5 24" for extra light.

stand doesn't look very sturdy to me. i would be afaid of it collapsing or the wheels breaking off with the weight of 2 tanks on it.
37 gal tank x 8lbs = 296lbs
30 gal tank say with 20 gal water in it 20 x 8lbs = 160lbs
296 + 160 = 456lbs
this doesn't include weight of tanks, pumps, skimmer, plumbing, etc.

Is that all 1" angle iron welded together? Any idea of the weight limit on those casters?

thats cool lookin should be super neat when you get it done

1 inch square tubing. Casters are 265 each (harbor frieght)

Seems plenty strong, and once the panels are on, no worries.

I think you will be fine. Couldn't see for sure if it was tubing or not.

Did a little more on it, need bulk heads and the eclipse drilled. Rolls ok with water in it, sloshes some, but none spilled.
