I wouldn't let this one issue put you off of the stealth heaters. Many of use have used them for years, and this is the first time I have ever heard of this happening. On the other hand, I see threads talking about other brands/models... especialy glass heaters... breaking all of the time.
I actually have a Stealth heater that started getting some of those bubbles, but it never melted through completely.......I suppose I should email them about replacing it. I keep forgetting though.......
It's one of those things....not every one that comes off the line is perfect. If there were no lemons, everything would be really expensive. But, a good company seeks to minimize the number of lemons w/o sacrificing affordability.
This is where a good warranty comes in handy.
Given their track record, there's no reason to be upset or disappointed in the product as as whole unless they fail to replace it.
its in the water. it just burned though the plastic and dropped into the tank.

well i always thought they had a warranty no problems. when you read the paper it does sound a little iffy.

i thought i was going to have to pay to send it back and get it back. wait forever and so on. one of the reasons why i emailed. also worried they were going to say defective but user error.
