I heard about this when you were just in the concept stage, i think, and it sounded like an interesting idea. Now that i see it, it's much, much cooler than i ever thought it could be. This is definitely the most interesting "bare bottom" tank I've ever seen.
I think for your next one, you might be better off spreading a thin layer of aquarium silicone over say, one square foot of the back, and laying down your tile, then moving on to the next square foot. You'd have to let the tank dry on its back, but then you wouldn't have to worry about algae getting behind the tiles, as it would all be one piece. Just an idea.
It sure looks nice with Jack's bright contrasting colors. This is really very cool. Nice work.
As for decor, I'm thinking get some of those titanium sporks from ThinkGeek toys, and silicone a small forest of titanium sporks to the bottom?
Could be cool. With a slower moving goldfish like Jack, I don't see a problem.
