I just looked and there must be a dozen or so egg scatterers mentioned, so that doesn't help a lot!

It was a species mentioned but not actually guessed at, if that helps

I would try to but i rather be patient and see what it grows into. I like bit of mystery if that helps.

The little guy passed overnight, such were the odds against him given his size and being a singleton.

To let out what he was most likely, he was a dwarf neon rainbowfish.

The tank my friend gave me plants from houses his dwarf rainbows, who spawn all the time for him.

Sorry to hear of its passing. Sometimes it just can't be helped. One thing to make you feel better - the odds were against it, despite your good husbandry skill and effort.

Too bad. Speaking of fry though, I need to go look at any updates on the emperor tetra fry...
