Nanos BJGD Log

Spawn one is getting big only two left there about 55 days old.
Spawn two was drastically cut down in size maybe 40 left? I need help IDing some of the EBJD if any.
my EBJD grow out looks great! im very impressed with him and his coloring. (or her)

Its been awhile since I updated here. I have a lot of fry growing out from a BGJD x BGJD pair. I started culling the regular/ BGs to make room for the amount of EBJD I'll have. One spawn I see at least 100 EBJD at the moment. I do have a question regarding my EBJD grow out. Do you all think I should start a new line of BGJD from him? Or pair him with a female from one of the other spawns and take the risk of the female being a normal? I'm torn between this right now. I want to start breeding this beefy guy. He displays some one the most amazing color I've seen from an EBJD in a LONG time. Also I'll be picking up five more EBJD soon. So overall this project has no failed me.
 
Ummmm if im not mistaken BG x BG creates either EBJD or BGJD not Reg JD's. The only way you would get Reg JD is if it was say a BG and a Reg then yea the gene may or may not take in some.
 
Nope a BGJD x BGJD pair will produce 50% Regular fry, 25% Blue Gene, and 25% EBJD.
An EBJD x BGJD pair will produce 50% Blue Gene & 50% EBJD fry
And then EBJD x rJD will give you 100% Blue Gene fry.

But now you also have gold gene x blue gene only two spawns as far as I know out in the hobby. Ahh genetics

I always heard it was bg x bg = 75% bg 25% eb and EB x BG gives 50% BG 50% EB. But who knows I dont try to put to much thought into genetics it will just make my head hurt and when that happens Im a very grumpy guy. Hmmm so there is a chance my pair may just be regular JD's lol aint that kick in the rear.
 
Well unless you bought for a good breeder. I'm assuming your pair came from a BG x BG??

Added some java moss and red cherry shrimp to the grow out tank. Looks great and stays clean!
 
I got mine from a breeder on Aquabid he lives in northen Cali. He is also on MFK now always advertising his BG, EBJD's, Gold's, and EBxGold.
 
I've seen him. I almost bought from him but backed out. Ive also seen someone advertising there blue genes... But his male EBJD is terribly ugly. Hahaha I would not want those genes mixed with my fish...
