Nanos BJGD Log

Yep well a little update everything going good they chose the same pot with the same rock infront of it, I swear that cave Is the love shack I've had at least 3 different pairs of fish spawn in there. They cleared out all the sand and defend it. No eggs but the males colors have gotten really deep, lots of flaring and tail slapping.

How is your pair coming along with the breeding???

I believe mine are getting ready to breed or are breeding right now. To lazy to get up and check. But the female is in breeding colors male is darker but not in the breeding dress.

We have wigglers I actualy had no idea there was a spawn Haha I haven't been paying to much attention to that tank I've been watching my jaguar and Mayan and debating what to do with them. Jag is nice but I don't have room and he'll be easier to get rid of now then later and the Mayan, i don't know I like him but after doing a TON of research and looking up some possiable cichlids for my 55 I'm thinking I kith get some geo, raise a chocolate cichlid with them or keyholes a big tank is comming soon with out a doubt.

But yes new spawn already at wiggler stage. Temp is 84. EBJD is doing nice. I'm leaving these fry with the parents for about 3 - 4 weeks

Still have two saviors from my first spawn I think they might make it. I have ni idea what I'm going to do with them though it's possiable I'll sell them or trade them. I might even try to pair them with my lil EBJD.

Second spawn looks good just started free swimming and mom and day are keeping a close eye on them moving the fry from one spot to another hourly it seems. Very fun to watch.

With my JD last spawn I saw some debree on the driftwood so went to move it off by fanning it with my hand. The fry were all in a pile in the corner swimming blindly well I never noticed the ones on the driftwood. I had babies all over the place. I felt bad. Mom was trying to gather them all in a frenzy while dad was just picking up one or two then tossing them out for the mom to carry back to the corner.

I don't see fry anymore but the parents are still pretty dark in color they seem just as defensive so I think they moved them somewhere I can't see.

That or they killed them all and are trying to keep you from the murder scene dundadun... LOL Yeah mine had did that with there last spawn. Hid them behind the driftwood. I put my hand in there and they went to attack I pulled out very quick. Ive been bitten by a big Red Devil before and my old Managua before and it didnt hurt but it hurt lol. It was enough to make me wanna leave them alone.

Nope nothing I cleaned the tank today and didn't find anything after cleaning there colors were gone. Hopefully I'll have a new spawn soon.
