Discovered another "snag". Too many plugs. I've got 4 powerheads, 3 heaters, 2 lights, 1 filter, and 2 LEDs with transformers. I've got 2 of these so far:

It's just not possible to plug everything into the two of them. I don't want a third. I'm looking for other options. The crazyest one I've come up with is to build an "outlet wall" like this:

This was done by a club member here in town. I'm thinking about building a box like that to set on the floor, running into one timer. Does this seem like a good/practical idea?

Another, simpler (and cheaper) option is to buy one or two powerbars. One for always on, and maybe one for daytime, both plugged into the timer.
 
Just buy the power strips.

Mount them up somewhere where water can't run down onto them. Make sure all your plugs plugged into them have drip loops so any water running down any of the cords would drip off before it gets to the plugs.

Make sure the outlets you plug the powerstrips into are GFI.
 
So I'm all stoked to get the chiller runnign so I can add salt tomorrow. Hook the chiller all up, turn it on, and nothing. Apparantly I needed a pump. Didn't know that, and I read the documentation. So I went to the LFS and grabbed a powerhead. Problem solved. Get that on, and with everything connected I still have leaks. They seem to be coming from where the hose attaches AND where the barbs screw into the chiller. It's a 1/15 Current USA. I've got the hoses clamped as tight as I think I can go without breaking anything, and I popped the o ring in on both too. I'm not siliconing anything,a nd didn't think I should. Thoughts?
 
Nice to see you solved the chiller problem. You are much more determined than me, I would have just given it up and taken it back. I am always afraid to mess with electrical equipment and end up injured or with damaged parts.

Might I suggest a timed power strip controlling the other power strips? That way you can group the equipment to certain times. I know target sells one that has three timed outlets on it. Not certain if that would work. But I am considering doing something similar. I also have a Sunpod fixture and I want my blue led, white led, and MH to come at different times. I am also going to be getting a mini fan for the top of the tank. That will come on when the MH does.
 
I'm going with the two digital times and one power strip. The power strip is going to be plugged into one of the other strips. Normally that would be a big nono. All I'm planning on using it for is a couple of low power items, like maybe a heater or powerhead, not too much. I'm actually not (I think) going to exceed the amount of outlets, I just need to do it for space with transformers.

I'm planning (for now) on having the MH on one timer with the blue LEDs on the nighttime for that one. The white LEDs will be on the other timer with my FW light. I'll probably put one of the powerheads on a day timer so that one shuts off at night. I'm still trying to decide what goes on and off when though.

LR will be going in tomorrow, but here's a picture of the tank with the powerheads. Can someone tell me is this will be good for flow, baring any LR interference? I know the left powerhead needs to be tipped up.

I would move the middle powerhead a bit to the right. I find that koralias are great at dispersed flow, but not so great at long distances. They loose their effectiveness.

The rest looks great. I can't wait to see the live rock. I don't know if you mentioned your bulb spectrum, what spectrum rating is your MH? The water looks very pretty.
 
Live rock is now in. It's probably about 25# with maybe another 5# left over. What do y'all think? Too cramped? Bad flow? Or JUST right?

I dind't move the rear powerhead yet because I didnt' read this thread until I took the pics. I can move it to the indented area I think, but I dunno if I can get it angled that far to the right that way. The MH is the stock 14K light, and I believe I had the blue and white LEDs both on.
