Need advice about betta, ASAP

No I dont think you are an idiot... Plopping (for lack of a better term) can happen quite accidentally... The only reason I mentioned it is because it has happened before on here with similar symptoms that you have described.

Perhaps my dog analogy is not the best....Dogs are also able to vomit... Not so for fish...Bettas do not seek out vegetation when constipated or bloated or otherwise have an "upset tummy".

Relax Chrisinha, no one is attacking you.

Good to know Im not being attacked.
I guess it's better if I just go back to the topic, huh?

Things I've noticed in the last couple of hours. It might not mean anything, or it might mean something... so I guess I'll just post them

When I turn off the lights (not the aquarium lights, but the room's light. It's already 11:40 pm) he goes to hang out on the surface, but as soon as I turn the lights back on, he swims to the bottom and stays there. This has happened like 3 times during these couple of hours.

When he's swimming to the surface, he seems to have little bit of difficulty.

When he's on the bottom he looks tired and sometimes his body seems to tilt to the side as if he's falling asleep

yeah the dog analogy wasn't a very good one :\ Cats and dogs eat it to literally vomit.

one of my males has made a complete bubble nest, and he seemed to do it almost overnight, so maybe he's trying to build a bubble nest?

Guys,

I don't know but I'm starting to think dropsy. The scales are not sticking out, and I've never seen a fish with this disease before, but I don't know... sixth sense maybe. I just woke up and he's hanging out at the surface, has been gulping for air more often. He's always had this weird body... you know when guys work out and their upper bodies are bigger than from their waits down...? So, he looks more bloated on his "shoulders". Can you picture what I'm saying? I can try to take a pic but I'm not sure you're gonna be able to see it either.

I need help!!!

Mardel's freshwater disease chart indicates treating with "Maracyn 2" medication for dropsy & sick fish that will not eat...
