need car advice.

Only thing I'd say is do not buy a new car - complete waste of money. Drive it home and lost x % immediately...mugs game unless you have cash to burn and then more power to you.

My fiance drives a 91 Volkswagon Golf - 171k on the clock, going strong - great great car. I reccomend one of them (newer but not brand new...something from say 3 years ago.

Good luck on your car hunting. The past two vehicles I have bought, I paid straight out cash for at less than 3 k each. Neither of them have given me many probs, and I have gotten my moneys worth out of both of them. Reason for this origially was because where I worked it required me to travel down ~10 miles of dirt road a day and the vehicle was parked in a not so nice enviroment for the paint job. However, Ill say that if feels good to get a "new" vehicle thats in pretty decent shape and not bring home a car payment with it.

BUY A VW!!!

i got my new accord cheaper then i could find it used..... lol doesnt always work but for the most part i agree a year older low miles is a great way to go.

Go biker! My honda 250 gets about 80 mpg and I don't get crud I don't need when I go shopping with it. Course, strapping a tv to the back of my bike would be tough, but winters are actually kind of fun.

so I just got back from the dealer... Papers signed, if my credit checks out, I'll be getting it on Thursday.

I finally decided on... drum roll please... ... ...

A Volks 2008 Jetta...

I finally decided to lease rather than purchasing. It made the most sense for me. I'll be going through a few changes in the upcoming years, will be getting married soon, etc etc .. so I think leasing would be the smartest thing to do, so I can later decide with Rosie what we'd like to purchase together.

it's a nice car, very comfy, seems good on gas, 2.5 l, 170 hp, took the 6 speed auto tiptronic, standard air/cruise, etc.

So thanks again for all your help/advice...
