They are very good looking fish and it looks like you are well on the way to knowing if its genetic or some kind of feeding regime as Star_Rider suggested. Please keep us posted on the outcome.
This could be the beginning of getting some of your fish expenses taken care of.
Just a quick update on my new angel pair. I have several hundred at 1 week from free swimming and eating live brine three times a day. I also have another batch that was just layed today, that I just pulled this evening. They are definitely a healthy pair, they have been spawing about every 7 days. Very large clutch's of eggs also, approx. 400 to 600 eggs at a time.
No auto feeder. I work a full time job M-F 8 to 5, they are fed live brine before I go to work, when I get home and right before bed. I'll do this for the first three weeks from free swimming and then I wean them off of the brine and start feeding crushed flake and other foods gradually.
The fry are doing great. Eating live baby brine shrimp 3 times a day and are almost at the 3 week since free swimming stage. Top and bottom fins are now appearing and you can see color patterns as well.
