I'm trying to empty out my 75 gallon so that I can use it for sw. Only problem is, I can never seem to get all of the water out.

I tried using siphon with just the tubing and no cylinder and pressed it down on the glass bottom but it soon got air and stopped. Now I have maybe a 1/4 or 1/3 inch in there. I don't know how else to get the water out.

I'm also trying get the gravel out I did it by hand and pull out about 80 percent. Now i have the gravel just sprinkled on the bottom.

Anyhow do you guys know of any easy way to get both these elements out?

Use a large household sponge to absorb the water, squeeze into a bucket...then get a cloth to soak up the remaining water...scrape gravel out with a hand brush and a dustpan......then clean away

Oh. Of water. Yeah well then sponges are the way to go!

Hey thanks man for the advice just went to walmart it only cost 4 bucks for the sponges and the dustpan brush combo.

I just take the tank outside inthe grass and upend it to drain it all out, then let it dry and bring it back in.
