Need Snail ID

i just collected a couple of these from a creek along with the driftwood i found. their bodies look identical to yours but i think the shells are different. are the shells of yours really green? is it an erosion thing or coloring?

Alrighty folks! I went down today and grabbed a bunch more snails, and 5 prepaid boxes! So, I'm going to try damp shipping them, per Sounguru's instructions.
One package is Msjinkzd, one goes to Sounguru, and Docsoldlady has dibs on the 3rd, assuming she was serious :). That means I can send 2 more packages to whoever calls dibs first! Obviously I don't know much about these guys, but they were collected in cool (65-70F) water, leaving little trails in the mulm.
So, if any other snail collectors are interested, post here and PM me!

A small suggestion ship to me first and let's see if they survive the longest trip so that way you will know if we need to change up the shipping method. I'm willing to take the hit and pay for shipping on 2 packages if needed. Then we will know for sure which is the best way to ship these guys.

Msjinkzd is so close that shipping to her shouldn't be a problem but those on the west coast it could be.

Also for anyone getting some of these they do need to be QT'd for a month to make sure all parasites or other bad things are gone. They can be a transmiter of a parasite to fish (and to humans if you eat your fish:evil_lol:) that can then continue it's life cycle back to the snail so in turn infecting other snails in your tank..

Ive had lots of inverts shipped to me from all across the US using priority, both in water and in damp newspaper without incident. Weather is perfect for shipping this time of year. I dont see any reason why they couldnt all be shipped out at once.

Simple some snails do better damp shipped some need water. If he were to ship damp and they all died then that shows these should be wet shipped and the reverse could be true. So firing off a shipment to someone who is the furthest and would take the longest to get there in one shipping method or the other will answer which is the best way to ship to ensure survival.

Because I'm out the furthest it usually takes 4 days for priority to reach me from the east coast. Hazards of being out in the backwoods.

My elimias have a bit of the bluish-greenish color too. It's erosion.

That's what I had figured too. That Susquehanna River needs to watch its pH, add some calcium supplements and do a water change! Bad river, Bad! lol

On a side note, all 5 packages have been called. If they do well, you'll probably be able to get some off Msjinkzd later, if anyone else is interested. Hopefully Sounguru will get us some awesome pics! :D
