Need some help with an outdoor pond!

Ohhhh. Sploke that's a good one!! I want to make something kind of like that. I will definatly add a UV thought. I don't want my water looking like green koolaid. haha!!

=]

The way I did mine was plumb the PVC however I needed to, then get a barb x threaded fitting. Get a female threaded doodad for the PVC, thread the barbed fitting onto the PVC, then use hose to connect the barb to the pump input/output. My pump uses 1" Id hose. The barb fittings are usually near the PVC fittings, they're generally grey colored.

Ok I just typed all that out and then clicked your link. Koralias are powerheads. Powerheads are generally designed for submerged, zero-head flow. They're not really suitable for external filter applications.

Hmm. They were were cheap too! =[

What kind of pumps do you recommend to me then?

I use an Oceanrunner 6500 on my pond, I like it so far. There are many pumps that will work well. Your pond will be similar in size to mine so the oceanrunner might be a good option, it was about $120 and only uses 115w, rated at 1700gph. you could go bigger, and may want to depending on your planned stocking levels and filter design.

That was one that I was contimplating. Where did you get yours from? The price seems cheap for such a powerful pump. How long has your pump been running for?

Ok cool. If I do end up getting it I will get that pump, maybe two.

Any other things I should do or know?

do a lot of research and design the whole filter before you buy anything. I have piles of spare pvc fittings and hose fittings cause i've changed things around so many times.
